The UNIST Typhoon™ SP is a portable, automatic lubrication system designed for aerospace drilling operations. Developed for pneumatic automatic drilling units (ADUs), it delivers a precise amount of lubricant directly to the cutting tool to improve hole quality and extend tool life.
smaller, lighter version of the standard Typhoon™, the Typhoon™ SP is specifically designed for applications requiring cutting tool lubrication only. It features an air flow sensor, an MV positive-displacement pump, and independent air and fluid adjustments. Its ergonomic design and built-in hose storage make it easy to transport and operate between workstations.
The UNIST Typhoon™ SP system is designed to provide precise and consistent lubrication for cutting tools used in aerospace drilling operations. Compatible with pneumatic automatic drilling units (ADUs), it delivers a controlled amount of lubricant directly to the cutting zone to reduce friction and improve drilling conditions.
Unlike the standard Typhoon™, which simultaneously lubricates the cutting tool and pneumatic motor, the Typhoon™ SP is designed exclusively for cutting tool lubrication. This configuration reduces the system's size and weight while retaining the key performance features of the Typhoon™ product line.
The Typhoon™ SP uses UNIST's proven air flow sensor and MV positive-displacement pump. Its adjustment system allows air and fluid flow rates to be controlled independently according to the requirements of different cutting tools and materials. The positive-displacement pump ensures precise and repeatable lubricant delivery during drilling operations.
With its compact industrial enclosure, ergonomic handle, and built-in hose storage, the Typhoon™ SP can be easily transported between workstations. Its rugged construction makes it suitable for demanding aerospace manufacturing environments.
Pneumatic automatic drilling units (ADUs)

The Typhoon™ SP allows independent adjustment of air and fluid flow rates using easily accessible adjustment knobs. These settings make it possible to adapt lubrication to the requirements of different cutting tools and materials.

The Typhoon™ SP retains the ergonomic features of the standard Typhoon™ in a smaller, lighter enclosure. Its handle makes transportation between workstations easy, while the hoses can be wrapped around the unit and secured with built-in clips.

The air flow sensor and pneumatic pilot valve are integrated into manifold blocks to provide easier access to components and simplify system maintenance.

The Typhoon™ SP uses UNIST MV positive-displacement pumps, designed to deliver precise and repeatable amounts of lubricant. Their operation helps maintain consistent fluid delivery throughout drilling operations.

The Typhoon™ SP features a rugged industrial enclosure designed to withstand demanding operating conditions. Its compact and durable construction helps ensure reliable performance in aerospace manufacturing environments.

The Typhoon™ SP can be used with UNIST Coolube® cutting lubricants. Made from renewable plant-based resources, these biodegradable lubricants are designed to provide effective lubrication while reducing the use of traditional cutting fluids. Applying small amounts of lubricant helps minimize fluid residue on tools, workpieces, and chips while reducing overall lubricant consumption.
UNIST offers a lifetime warranty on Typhoon™ SP system pumps when used exclusively with Coolube® lubricant, in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty conditions.

The standard Typhoon™ is designed to simultaneously lubricate the cutting tool and pneumatic motor of automatic drilling units (ADUs). It is ideal for applications requiring lubricant delivery to both components. The system retains a portable design with independent air and fluid adjustments and built-in hose storage.

The Typhoon™ EL is designed for integration with electric advanced drilling units (ADUs). It stands out for its advanced minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) control, allowing lubricant output rates to be adjusted throughout the drilling cycle. It also provides data feedback capabilities and is available with an optional integrated vacuum valve.
