IDEAL ORB-TEC Carbide Circular Saw Blades for Orbital Cutting

Carbide-tipped circular saw blades for orbital cutting of metal tubes and profiles

IDÉAL ORB-TEC® circular saw blades are specially designed for orbital cutting machines used in metal tube production. Equipped with tungsten carbide tips, they deliver high cutting performance, excellent stability and precise cut quality, even in demanding industrial applications.

Suitable for cutting thin-walled and thick-walled tubes, particularly those made from high-tensile-strength steel, ORB-TEC® blades are designed for orbital cutting machines equipped with two, three or four cutting heads rotating around the tube. Their robust construction and resharpening capability help extend blade service life and reduce cutting costs.

ORB-TEC Technology: Precision and Performance for Orbital Cutting

IDÉAL ORB-TEC® circular saw blades are developed for orbital cutting machines used in metal tube production facilities. These machines are generally equipped with two, three or four cutting heads that rotate around the tube during the cutting operation. ORB-TEC® blades are specifically designed for this type of equipment and the cutting requirements associated with industrial tube production. Their robust construction makes them suitable for applications requiring high cutting performance, stability and consistent cut quality.

ORB-TEC® blades can also be resharpened, helping extend their service life.

Tungsten Carbide Tips for High-Tensile-Strength Steel

ORB-TEC® blades feature tungsten carbide tips made from a specially selected carbide grade for these applications. This carbide grade combines high mechanical strength with reduced brittleness. It allows the teeth to penetrate high-tensile-strength steel effectively, including tubes with substantial wall thicknesses. This design aims to reduce cutting forces while promoting longer blade life.

Tooth Geometry Designed for Cutting Requirements

ORB-TEC® blades feature trapezoidal toothing with chip breaker grooves, designed to facilitate chip breaking during cutting.

Different tooth geometries have been specially developed to achieve high cutting performance and reduce the forces required during cutting. These characteristics meet the requirements of orbital cutting applications involving metal tubes and profiles.

Individual Inspection for Consistent Performance

Every ORB-TEC® blade is individually inspected and marked with a batch number. This quality control process helps ensure consistent cutting performance and maintain uniform quality from one blade to another.

IPC C and PVD Coatings

IDÉAL ORB-TEC® circular saw blades are presented with the IPC C (Individual Performance Cutting®) hard coating, designed to meet the demanding conditions encountered in metal tube production.

During manufacturing, tubes can reach elevated temperatures. The low friction coefficient of the IPC C coating supports smooth cutting, even when cut-off operations must be completed in extremely short periods.

The ORB-TEC® range also includes a resharpenable PVD-coated blade (Physical Vapor Deposition) intended for orbital cutting applications.

These coating characteristics support cutting performance, reduced cutting forces and extended blade service life.
