Use excess coolant if required when cutting mild or non-ferrous metals.

Ensure teeth are facing the correct direction.

VIBRATION DURING CUTTING

Adjust blade speed (increase or decrease depending on material and thickness).

Increase blade tension. Use finer tooth pitch. Increase feed pressure. Clamp workpiece securely.

TOOTH BREAKAGE

Use finer tooth pitch for thin materials.

Eliminate vibration by securing the workpiece. Check for blade slippage or incorrect tension. Use proper coolant for soft materials.

If clogging occurs, switch to a thicker coolant. Reduce feed pressure.

Use coarser tooth pitch based on workpiece size.

POOR SURFACE FINISH

Increase cutting speed. Use a finer tooth pitch.

Reduce feed pressure. Use proper coolant.

PREMATURE BLADE FAILURE

Blade thickness may be too high for machine wheels or speed. Lower cutting speed.

Check for wheel edge defects. Reduce feed pressure.

Lower blade tension. Adjust blade guides.

Use coolant.

CROWNED OR HOLLOW CUT SURFACES

Increase blade tension.

Adjust guide spacing to suit the workpiece width. Use coarser tooth pitch.

Reduce feed pressure. In case of chip clogging, use coarser tooth pitch and increase coolant

Adjust pressure or feed rate as needed. Increase blade speed.

POOR CONTACT WITH BACK GUIDE (VERTICAL MACHINES)

If blade bounces in front of back guide: remove weld burrs from blade back.

If blade intermittently touches back guide: reweld and realign blade ends.

Check wheel alignment, especially with more than two wheels. Check for worn or deformed back guides.

BLADE BOWED OR CONCAVE BACK

Blade is pressing too hard on guides.

Adjust blade tracking on wheels first, then adjust guides. Convex back = excessive pressure.

Use coarser pitch for better penetration. Guides may be too far apart for workpiece size.

BLADE WANDERING (TRACKING PROBLEMS)

Asymmetric or damaged tooth set.

Misaligned guides — readjust or replace if worn.

If equipped with cleaning brushes, verify alignment and replace if necessary.

Excessive feed pressure — reduce feed.

TWISTED BLADE

Blade warps during cut: reduce feed pressure.
