The UNIST Typhoon™ is a portable, automatic lubrication system designed for aerospace drilling operations. It simultaneously supplies lubricant to the cutting tool and air motor, ensuring consistent lubrication, protecting components, and improving hole quality.
Featuring positive-displacement pumps, independently adjustable air and fluid flow rates, and an ergonomic design, the Typhoon™ simplifies drilling operations with pneumatic advanced drilling units (ADUs). Its compact design, carrying handle, and built-in hose storage make it easy to transport the system between workstations.
The UNIST Typhoon™ system is specifically designed to meet the demands of aerospace drilling operations. Used with pneumatic advanced drilling units (ADUs), it provides precise lubricant delivery to protect cutting tools and air motors during operation.
When the pneumatic tool is activated, the Typhoon™ automatically delivers the required amount of lubricant to both the cutting tool and the air motor. Its two lubrication circuits supply these components according to their respective requirements, helping maintain consistent operating conditions.
The system features independently adjustable air and fluid flow rates. These adjustments allow lubricant application to be tailored to different cutting tools and materials. Its air flow sensor is designed to minimize pressure loss, helping maintain the power available to the pneumatic tool.
Thanks to its portable design, the Typhoon™ can be easily moved between workstations. Its ergonomic handle and built-in hose storage simplify transportation and operation in aerospace manufacturing environments.

Pneumatic advanced drilling units (ADUs)

The Typhoon™ system allows quick and precise adjustments during operation, thanks to large, easy-to-read air and fluid adjustment knobs.

The system features an ergonomic handle for easy transportation between workstations. The hose can be wrapped around the unit and secured with built-in clips for convenient storage and transport.

The air flow sensor and air pilot valve are integrated into manifold blocks to simplify system maintenance. An adjustable air pressure regulator with a gauge also allows the air supply to be adjusted according to the pneumatic tool's requirements.

The Typhoon™ uses UNIST MV positive-displacement pumps designed to deliver precise and repeatable amounts of lubricant. Their operation ensures consistent fluid delivery during drilling operations.

The Typhoon™ features a rugged industrial enclosure designed to withstand demanding operating conditions. Its durable construction helps ensure reliable performance in aerospace manufacturing environments.

The Typhoon™ is equipped with a priming bulb that allows the lubrication circuit to be primed during initial setup or maintenance operations.

The Typhoon™ can be used with UNIST Coolube® cutting lubricants. Made from renewable plant-based resources, these biodegradable lubricants are designed to provide effective lubrication while reducing the use of traditional cutting fluids. Applying small amounts of lubricant helps minimize fluid residue on tools, workpieces, and chips while reducing overall lubricant consumption.
UNIST offers a lifetime warranty on Typhoon™ system pumps when used exclusively with Coolube® lubricant, in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty conditions.

The Typhoon™ SP is a compact version designed exclusively for cutting tool lubrication with pneumatic advanced drilling units (ADUs). Unlike the standard Typhoon™, it does not include an air motor lubrication circuit. Its ergonomic design, independently adjustable air and fluid flow rates, and built-in hose storage make it a practical solution for applications requiring cutting tool lubrication only.

The Typhoon™ EL is designed for integration with electric advanced drilling units (ADUs). It stands out for its advanced minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) control, allowing lubricant output rates to be adjusted throughout the drilling cycle. It also provides data feedback capabilities and is available with an optional integrated vacuum valve.
