The HFD-U range of hydraulic fluids are self-extinguishing anhydrous oils. Formulated from organic esters or synthetic oils and ultra-efficient additives, hydraulic oils in the CONDAT D range have excellent fire-resistant properties allowing for complete safety of installations, operators and the environment. Further, they are biodegradable (according to standard OECD 301B).
CONDAT D46 & D68 are HFDU hydraulic fluids formulated from organic esters.
When hydraulic installations are working in enclosed premises where fire risks are present CONDAT D46 & D68 can be used:
CONDAT D46 & D68 reduce the risks presented by a mineral oil if a leak or spray occur in a hot environment (flame, molten metal, hot material…). Where hydraulic installations are working in natural environment or in direct contact with the terrain, like tunnel boring machines, the use of CONDAT D46 & D68 protect against all risks of pollution incidents.

Thanks to its self-inflammation temperature > 450°C, CONDAT D46 & D68 will not spontaneously ignite at a lower temperature. To these higher fire resistance properties, CONDAT D46 & D68 adds excellent lubricating characteristics such as:
With their self-extinguishing properties CONDAT D46 & D68 prevent fire propagation and stop burning as soon as the ignition source is taken away. Evaluated by Factory Mutual (class N°6930), to which Insurance Companies refer in regards of fire safety, CONDAT D46 & 68 are consistent with Industrial Fluid Flammability Classification: “approved”.
With a very good stability in use, the CONDAT D46 & D68 offer a very long service life with very low pump wear. CONDAT D46 and D68 are biodegradable and environmentally friendly (WGK 1 self-classification).
CONDAT D46 & D68 meet ISO 12922 (HFDU) and ISO 15380 (HEES) standards. They are perfectly miscible and compatible with hydraulic mineral oils and can be used where mineral based hydraulic oils (ISO 11158 HM/HV or DIN 515 2462/3) are used if the use temperature does not exceed 90°C (190°F). Their lubricating properties are equivalent and they are compatible with the majority of metals and seals.

HFD-U hydraulic oils CONDAT D 46/68 are certified with FM Global (Factory Mutual) approval, and the oil CONDAT D 68 is also approved by the American organisation MSHA.

This organisation, attached to the American labour ministry, has laboratories to test and approve products that may be used (or not) in underground sites, so as to guarantee a maximum safety level for workers.
